In the local gumbaynggirr language of the Indigenous Aboriginal people, Urunga means “long white sands,” and it certainly lives up to its name. Urunga is a place where the rivers meet the sea. With the Bellinger and Kalang rivers coming together, boating and fishing (both freshwater and saltwater) is extremely popular in the area.
Urunga is located between beachside holiday hotspots, Nambucca Heads and Coffs Harbour and is a central hub to other spectacular location on the north coast such as Bellingen, Dorrigo and Sawtell.
